The Newcastle Branch of the Industrial Relations Society of New South Wales was established in 1978.

It is a non-profit professional association whose main aim is to bring together practitioners, professionals and scholars from all sides of industrial relations. Since its foundation, the Newcastle Branch of the IRS has continuously provided forums (like our Annual Conference in October, the Annual Finnegan-Rudd Dinner in July and Twilight Seminars through the year).
